LEARN ALL ABOUT AMP
-
AMP programs are designed for musicians of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re enrolling a child just starting out, a teen looking for ensemble experience, or an adult returning to music, our small-group programs and private lessons provide a supportive space to learn, grow, and perform—complete with exciting performances that inspire every musician’s journey.
As a nonprofit, AMP is committed to making music accessible to everyone. We keep program costs as low as possible and offer a scholarship program to support families and participants with financial needs.
-
From school music programs: AMP focuses on small groups rather than large ones, which best emulates the kinds of bands professional musicians have the most opportunity to play in.
From private music programs: AMP believes that music education should be collaborative, not competitive. We serve students of all skill levels, keep our pricing as low as possible, and foster a welcoming environment where everyone can belongs.
From corporate private lesson studios: Many large studios pay their teachers extremely low wages, attracting educators in the beginning stages of their careers. We prioritize fair wages to ensure our teachers and coaches to make sure all our students are taught by seasoned professionals with years of teaching and performing experience. -
Professional musicians know that the thrill of performing on stage with a group of bandmates is what makes the hours of personal practice worth it. But too often, music learners never make get a chance to experience this motivating part of music. They give up before they can ever really get inspired. We seek to bridge that gap, and help students experience the joy of performing WHILE they’re still in the process of developing.
-
AMP programs are built around a simple, hands-on process:
Join a program that fits your interests and skill level
Learn by doing in small-group ensembles with expert mentors
Perform with confidence at concerts and showcases
Feel inspired to work towards the next program, or a project of your own design
A COMMUNITY THAT INSPIRES
AMP isn’t just about music—it’s about connection. Students leave each program not only with new skills but also with lasting friendships, confidence, and a love of performing.
