ADULT JAM BANDS
Ages 19+
Three Seasons:
(Fall • Winter • Spring)
$540 per season (Billed monthly)
Upcoming Sessions:
Adult Jam Bands extends the fun of Jam Bands to adult musicians of all skill levels who want to collaborate, improve their playing, and have a great time making music with others. Focused on rock and pop repertoire, the program emphasizes group dynamics and working together toward a performance that looks great and sounds even better.
Participants meet for weekly rehearsals over approximately 12 weeks, rotating through bands and guided by professional musician coaches. Midway through the session, participants record 2–3 songs in a professional studio, and the program culminates in a large-scale public showcase featuring professional lights, sound, and fog machines.
Enrollment in private lessons during the program is strongly recommended, but not required.
Monthly payment plans and scholarships available.

The students in our Adult Jam Bands program meet together over the course of approximately 13 weeks. They are cast into multiple bands allowing them to work with a variety of other students. With the help of professional musician coaches, songs are assigned to help with their musical growth throughout the course. They focus on developing stage presence, group dynamics, and emotional investment in the music.
Mid-way through the program, the students participate in a recording session at a world-class studio. The program culminates with a large-scale public concert, complete with full sound, lights, and fog machines.
-
This program is designed to augment and amplify the experience of individual instruction, but cannot replace the indivual attention to skill-buidling that would be provided by a private teacher. Some adults come with already very developed skills, and do not need to co-enroll with private lessons. Others find the support of a private teacher in addition to the experience in the program to be the best combination. There is no strict requirement for this program.
-
While various skill levels are welcomed, students should have at minimum a beginning facility on their instrument, and know how to learn songs. We recommend that brand-new players start with private lessons and join the program when they have a handful of songs under their fingers. Students must have their own instrument througout the program to practice on (AMP can provide loaner instruments, where needed.)
-
We mean it when we say "19+" We have a really wide variety of ages in the programs, with our students spread across the categories of recent graduates from our youth programs, young professionals, middle-aged folks and retirees. Whatever your age, you are welcome, and likely to have at least a few similarly-aged students in your session.
Please note: We have a set minimum number of registered students we will need to make the program feasible. In the event that not enough students register , we will refund any registration fees and cancel the session.
*All stated fees include a service fee for credit/debit card transactions. This fee is waived when tuition is paid via ACH direct bank transfer. See registration page for details.
How the Program Works
The following policies apply to all Jam Bands programs. Program-specific rehearsal schedules, billing calendars, and event dates are listed in each program's registration section below. Please read through these policies carefully before registering. If you have any questions, please contact us and we're always happy to help!
Seasons
Jam Bands is divided into three seasons each year—Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each season includes 12 instructional sessions, a professional recording session, and a culminating public concert. Students may enroll at the beginning of any season.
Season Commitment
Whether a student joins at the beginning of a season or mid-season, enrollment is a commitment through the season's final concert. Each student's participation affects the experience of the entire band, so we generally cannot accommodate withdrawals after a season has begun except in cases of significant or unforeseen circumstances. If an emergency arises, please contact us—we'll work with your family to determine the best solution.
Enrollment
We strongly encourage families to register by each season's published registration deadline. Early registration helps us confirm that a program has enough students to run and allows our staff to thoughtfully build bands, assign coaches, and plan rehearsals before the season begins.
Whenever possible, we also welcome new students during a season. Mid-season enrollment depends on factors such as instrumentation, available openings, and the progress of each band. If you're interested in joining after a season has begun, please contact us—we'll be happy to discuss whether we can accommodate your student.
Enrollment automatically continues from one season to the next, so families do not need to re-register each season. Families who wish to discontinue must submit their withdrawal during the published withdrawal window before the next season begins. Withdrawal deadlines are communicated by email before each season.
Tuition + Billing
Each Jam Bands season costs $540. Rather than collecting the full tuition upfront, we divide the season into 12 instructional sessions at $45 each and bill monthly based on the number of scheduled instructional sessions in each calendar month.
The 12 instructional sessions include weekly rehearsals, one professional recording session, and one dress rehearsal. The culminating concert is an included part of the program and is not billed as a separate session.
The first month's tuition is due at registration. After that, tuition is automatically billed on the 1st of each month for all scheduled instructional sessions in the upcoming month. Because some months include more instructional sessions than others, monthly payments vary. Each program publishes a detailed billing calendar so families know exactly when charges will occur and how much each payment will be.
A valid credit card must be kept on file for automatic billing throughout the program
Attendance
Students are expected to attend all instructional sessions, recording sessions, dress rehearsals, and concerts. Because bands function as teams, consistent attendance is essential to the success of the group. If an absence is unavoidable, please notify AMP as soon as possible so our coaches can plan accordingly.
