Sessions:

Jam Bands Jr. is perfect for young musicians interested in rock and pop with little to no prior experience. Students explore playing rock band instruments, rhythm, and teamwork in a fun, supportive environment. Currently, Jam Bands Jr. is offered only at our Bountiful Location.

Monthly payment plans and scholarships available.

  • All students in our Junior program meet together weekly for approximately 13 weeks. To help our new little rock stars, we practice with backing tracks, to help get through songs. A large focus is on learning to stay on tempo and move through an entire song, while listening to other players, and performing with good stage presence.

    At the end of the program, the little rock stars open the performance of our standard Jam Band concert, and perform on a big stage equipped with lights, sound, and fog machines.

  • No prior experience needed. We’re equipped to help brand-new players in this program.

    We recommend that students have their own instruments, but we have loaners available for students to borrow during the session. All amplifiers and sound equipment provided.

  • For best results, we highly recommend co-enrolling in private lessons with any of our group programs, whether through AMP or with a private teacher elsewhere. Private lessons focus on individual skill development. This group program focuses on group dynamics and performance.

Please note: We have a set minimum number of registered students we will need to make the program feasible. In the event that not enough students register , we will refund any registration fees and cancel the session.

Registration Details:

Registration to open by July 2026

Register on your primary instrument. If you play additional instruments that you'd be interested in also playing as part of Jam Bands, please list them in the registration form you'll fill out during booking. 

Drop Dates:

Should you wish to discontinue Jam Bands at any point during the year, these are the dates that you may drop out for the upcoming season:

  • November 1-9 (dropping for Winter Season)

  • February 1-9 (dropping for Spring Season)

  • July 19-26 (dropping for Fall Season)

To drop out, email info@amp-utah.org with the subject line “drop out” along with the students name and we’ll remove them from the roster. Their spot will then be given to others on the waitlist. To join up again click on the link below to put the student’s name on the waitlist and when new spots open for the season, they will be re-enrolled.

Email notifications will be sent as a reminder of upcoming drop dates

Fall Season

  • September 29: Recording session from 7:30-9:30 PM

  • October 13: No rehearsal for fall break

  • November 10: Dress rehearsal from 7-10 PM

  • November 14: Concert from 2-5PM.

  • November 17, November 24: No rehearsals for Thanksgiving Break

Winter Season

  • December 22, December 29: No rehearsals for Winter Break

  • January 26: Recording session from 7:30-9:30 PM

  • March 2: Dress rehearsal from 7-10 PM

  • March 6: Concert from 2-5pm

Spring Season

  • March 30: No rehearsals for Spring Break

  • April 27: Recording session from 7:30-9:30 PM

  • June 1:Dress rehearsal from 7-10 PM

  • June 4: Concert from 7:30-10pm
